What is Modal Fabric: Modal is a modern, man-made fabric. It's a variation of rayon, and made from cellulose fiber by spinning cellulose, which is wood fiber from beech trees. Using cellulose from beech trees allows the fabric to be more eco-friendly since beech trees are soil enhancers, breed naturally and do not need artificial irrigation. Modal is more absorbent than cotton or other synthetic fabrics. It also takes dye well, and is very colorfast. It has a soft, slinky texture, making it comfortable to wear.
